Subaru of America and its dealers are providing school supplies to students in more than 4,700 classrooms around the country for the upcoming year. It’s starting with 3,280 elementary schoolers in its hometown of Camden, N.J.
CEO Tom Doll surprised Camden teachers with the news during a segment on “Good Morning America” last week.
The automaker is partnering with AdoptAClassroom.org through its Subaru Loves Learning initiative.
“Over 114,000 students are going to be receiving aid under our program,” Doll said on the ABC morning show. “It’s going to be providing the basic needs — things like pencils and paper and crayons and calculators. Things that are so necessary for them to be able to succeed in school.”
