Kia is in the midst of a product golden age, says James Morrell, the brand’s dealer council chairman.
Consumers might have gotten a taste of it on New Year’s Eve, when Kia showcased the redesigned 2021 Sorento on the big screens in New York’s Times Square during the famous ball drop. The Sorento took a cross-country trip from Kia’s Irvine, Calif., headquarters in the days leading up to the spectacle to deliver the “2021” numerals that lit up when the clock struck midnight.
Morrell said the Sorento is just one piece of an ongoing blitz of fresh entries. The Carnival, a minivan that’s set to blur the lines between minivan and SUV, is expected to arrive later this year along with a new electric vehicle on a dedicated electrified platform.
Last year, the Korean brand launched the K5 sedan, which offers all-wheel-drive capabilities.
