Porsche has a way for owners to make their 911 truly one of a kind.
For €7,500 (about $8,400), Porsche’s personalization division will now put a giant copy of the owner’s fingerprint on the hood. The option, available only in Germany, uses a proprietary method of directly printing graphical elements onto painted body parts.
Eventually, other “customer-specific designs” will be available, the luxury brand said.
“Individuality is very important for Porsche customers. And no design can be more personal than your own fingerprint,” Alexander Fabig, Porsche’s vice president of individualization and classic, said in a statement. “Porsche is a pioneer in personalization and has developed the direct printing method together with partners. We’re especially proud of having developed a completely new product offering based on new technologies.”
